Two Important Developments Yielding Impressive Website Traffic By Jim Daniels
Today's gazette will reveal two new developments for webmasters, email newsletter editors, and any business in need of more website traffic.
These two developments will prove especially interesting to anyone in need of fresh niche content, as well as anyone who writes articles.
Development #1: "Creative Commons"
Creative Commons is described at
Wikipedia as "a non-profit organization devoted to expanding the range of creative work available for others legally to build upon and share."
As you are probably aware, almost any original information you find on the Internet has a full copyright, which means you cannot legally use it at your website, in your newsletter, etc.
If the content you find is "creative commons licensed", you CAN copy it. And it's catching on fast.
If you go to the Creative Commons search engine at
www.creativecommons.org you can search using Google, Yahoo! and more. A creative commons search has even been adopted into the Firefox browser.
Again, this search service finds content across the web that CAN be copied and republished, thanks to being tagged with a "creative commons license". (A creative commons license allows an author to share their content with others, under conditions THEY dictate.)
So how do you use this to get website traffic?
Simple. Every smart marketer writes an original article from time to time. By putting a Creative Commons License on your articles, you can get wider exposure than you might ever have thought possible. Other web sites, e-zines, online publications and print publications will be free to publish your article (with credit AND a link to your site!) therefore expanding your visibility.
To get your articles into Yahoo! and Google Creative Commons Searches, you must follow 3 simple steps.
1. Select the license that suits your preferences at
www.creativecommons.org/license2. Choose to allow commercial use of your work and whether or not you will allow modifications of your work. After you have set your preferences, click "Select License." (Make sure you give some thought to the type of license you want your articles to carry, as creative commons licenses are non-revocable.)
3. Finally, copy and paste the text they offer into your web page. This text will indicate that your articles have a creative commons license.
Once you place the license on your web pages, within a week or so Creative Commons Search should index your pages. In fact, it took just 8 days to get my
marketing articles web page listed number one when searching with the Google tab for "marketing articles". All I did was paste a license into my page and wait.
Think about this... using the CC license logo on all your content web pages can create countless targeted links pointing to your site through indexed pages in the Yahoo and Google creative commons results!
Plus, you'll also gain more links from the websites that decide to use your content along with the attributions you specify in your usage guidelines. You can do that with a short message near the CC code you paste at your site. Remember to require a live link to your site with keyword related anchor text! (For a real example see the CC logo at the bottom of this page.)
Development #2: Content Composer
This system differs a bit from the platform above. First of all, it is for profit and it is not 100% free to use. However, if you are in need of 100% ORIGINAL content at your sites, as most search engines DEMAND for solid ranking these days, it is well worth the investment.
The Content Composer system was developed by Jason Potash, a respected Internet Marketing expert who's been developing software solutions for more than 6 years now.
I had a close look at this system before the official launch and I have to report that it is quite clever and equally powerful.
Content composer was first released to Jason's customers back in July 2006. Since then, 472 of his customers have been using this secret weapon to quickly produce high-quality, unique content.
The content generated is being used to grab top 10 rankings, siphon massive traffic, and obtain long-lasting results in the search engines (without becoming another victim of duplicate content filters) in 3 months or less.
I won't go into all the details of using content composer in this issue of the gazette, as that would take more space than I have here. Instead, I urge you to go to the
Content Composer site and read about this new system. You'll not only see how simple it is to use, you'll be able to see the results others are already having with it.
At the very least, read the
free report Jason just released about the changes that 2007 has brought to the world of search engines, content and ranking. (There's no need to enter your email address, you can just grab the report anonymously.)
In closing...
Very few people are taking advantage of these two new developments to gain more visibility for their articles and their websites. The few who know about them are already seeing traffic spikes. Now is the perfect time to move into these new areas, while there is little competition and significant growth available.
That's it for today's gazette. See you in a couple weeks.
